Editorial Policy

Classicnews7 exists to give South Africans fast, accurate and useful news. This policy explains how we work.

1. Accuracy and sourcing

  • We rely first on primary sources: official statements from government departments, the IEC, SASSA, the South African Reserve Bank, court documents and named spokespeople.
  • Where we use reporting by other news outlets, we credit and link to them.
  • Each article lists its key sources at the end so readers can verify the facts.
  • We clearly label forecasts and projections (for example, expected petrol price changes) as such until official figures are released.

2. Original reporting, not copying

We write every article in our own words and add value for readers — explaining what a development means, who it affects and what to do next. We do not copy or “spin” other publishers’ articles.

3. Use of technology and AI

We use digital tools — including keyword research tools, Google Trends and AI writing assistants — to spot what readers are searching for and to help research and draft stories. No article is published without being reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a human editor, who is responsible for its accuracy.

4. Updates and corrections

When facts change we update the article and show an “Updated” date. If we make a mistake we correct it promptly and, for significant errors, note the correction at the end of the article. Report errors to editor@classicnews7.co.za.

5. Independence and fairness

We report on all political parties fairly and give people we criticise a chance to respond where possible. Advertisers and sponsors have no influence over our editorial content. Sponsored content, if any, is always clearly labelled “Sponsored”.

6. Headlines

Our headlines must reflect what the article actually says. We do not use misleading clickbait.

7. Ownership

Classicnews7 is owned by Ready4BusinessOnline, Johannesburg. Editor: Jonathan Lokota.
